JONESBORO, Ark. – Every June 12th is the anniversary of national ‘Loving Day’. The day recognizes the interracial relationship of Mildred, a woman of black and Native American ancestry and Richard Loving, a white man who were arrested due to violating the Racial Integrity Act of 1924. However, in 1967, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that it is unconstitutional to ban interracial marriages.
