“There can be no higher law in journalism than to tell the truth and to shame the devil.” — Walter Lippmann

It takes an informed citizenry to make a democratic Republic work. The Delta Digital News Service aims to provide a voice for the voiceless and the vulnerable, hold actions accountable, and seek community solutions. DDNS aims for transparency, both in its reporting and of those reported.

The Delta Digital News Service abides by the same code of ethics promoted by the Society of Professional Journalists. However, student publications face particular issues addressed by the Associated Collegiate Press’ Model Code of Ethics for Collegiate Journalists. The DDNS adviser operates by the College Media Association’s Code of Ethical Behavior.

The Delta Digital News Service does not knowingly publish inaccuracies, but they do occur. When found, DDNS will correct the error as soon as possible, regardless of the source of the error. Corrections will appear at the bottom of the corrected article with a descriptive explanation.
